The Two Ella Kantemirs

The two Ella Kantemirs in Baku, Azerbaijan in July 2019 under the Olive tree.

The meaning of the Olive tree - Friendship and harmony, evokes wisdom and compassion for humanity and peace in conflict.

PRINCESS ELEONORA BORISOVNA KANTEMIR I

July 7, 1938 - April 24, 2022. Born in Cherkessk, Russia and died in Baku, Azerbaijan on Paska Easter morning. Ella lived in Baku most of her life. A miracle occurred when she found her long lost sister after 50 years who was living in the US. A reunion took place in Baku in 2003 bringing the two Ellas together, who share the same name. The US visa quota for Ella to immigrate became available 16 years later. By then, Ella was too frail. She loved her country of Azerbaijan and most of all, she loved me too.

Update - July 2020

Plans to visit Romania, the birthplace of my ancestor, His Serene Highness Prince Dmitri Kantemir for July, 2020, had to be cancelled as a result of the worldwide pandemic.

His Serene Highness is interred at the Church of the Three Hierarchs in Iasi, Romania.

It would have been a memorable moment to be reunited after three hundred years.

I hope you all are staying safe and healthy during these unprecedented times.

Release of New Edition - Updated and Expanded - Iron Blood

Since the original publication of Iron Blood - 300 Years of the Dmitri Kantemir Dynasty, newly found historical and cultural documents and testimonies have been unearthed. They are included in the new version, which will still contain the essence of the original. Additions include the discovery of “The Second Testament” of Princess Maria Cantemir from 1757, uncovered in the Russian archives of St. Petersburg, Russia. Further additions include the forgotten atrocities of the massacre of Cossacks in Lienz, Austria in 1945, providing dramatic insight to the desperation of innocent people.

California's Writers Club - March 24, 2018

Princess Kantemir will give a presentation of her personal journey in becoming an
accomplished global author at a presentation for the Inland Empire Branch of the
California Writer's Club.

Her narration will explore the "Myths and Realities of a Writer's World," spanning 12 years of extensive research, writing, finding a publisher, and promotion.
